Pavement preservation represents a proactive approach in maintaining our existing roads and highways. It enables State Transportation Agencies to reduce costly, time consuming rehabilitation and reconstruction projects and the associated traffic disruptions. With timely preservation we can provide the traveling public with improved safety and mobility, reduced congestion, and smoother, longer lasting pavements.
An effective pavement preservation program will address pavements while they are still in good condition and before the onset of serious damage. By applying a cost-effective treatment at the right time, the pavement is restored almost to its original condition. Each pavement needs to be evaluated to determine the most effective treatment, and our knowledgeable sales staff can help.
Sealing cracks in asphalt pavements can maintain pavement structural integrity while limiting future pavement deterioration. Effective crack sealing can extend pavement life in a cost effective manner by slowing the rate of degradation with a well planned Pavement Maintenance System. Simply stated, sealing cracks and joints in pavements extends the service life of the surface treatment and the pavement.
Melt and apply all grades of hot pour rubber crack sealant, AC oils or AC oil ad fiber.
Rout and clean asphalt or concrete joints and cracks.
is designed specifically to be used as a moisture barrier. It prevents water permeation or penetration through pavement surfaces and subsequent damage that moisture can cause.
is a highly effective stress relief interlayer material consisting of high-density mastic between two layers of rugged polyester fabric. Installed in strips over cracked, spalled concrete or asphalt, PavePrep intercepts and reduces the stresses induced by thermal expansion and contraction, thereby reducing the tendency of crack reflecting through the overlay.
A fog seal is a light application of a diluted slow-setting asphalt emulsion to the surface of an aged (oxidized) pavement surface. Fog seals are low-cost and are used to restore flexibility to an existing HMA pavement surface.
GSB-88 Rejuvenating Sealant Binder is a low cost method to keep pavements in good condition longer. GSB-88 helps to slow down the oxidation/deterioration process of your roads. GSB is a very strong binder and was studied and shown by the Army Corp of Engineers to be four times more effective in holding a pavement's surface together than the leading saturate oil rejuvenator. When used properly, GSB-88 can double the service life of solid asphalt pavements. Under the correct conditions, it can be used effectively on any type of asphalt pavement including:
PASS QB is a modified cationic emulsion containing a rejuvenating agent, specialized asphalt and quality polymers. Carefully formulated with cationic emulsifiers, it designed to break rapidly after application so that traffic can be resumed with minimal traffic delays.
Reclamite© rejuvenating agent is formulated from petroleum maltenes to prolong the life of asphalt pavements. It provides a simple, one-step method for restoring and preserving plasticity and durability in asphalt. Reclamite© is outstanding for its ability to delay the aging process from the onset and reverse any premature aging that might leave the finished surface vulnerable to air and water intrusion, the chief causes of premature aging.
Airport runway applications are well suited for Reclamite© preservative seal. Reclamite© will seal and protect mildly raveled, oxidized and porous surfaces.

PermaSeal is a protective coating specially formulated from asphalt emulsion and select mineral fillers. It provides excellent weathering properties which resist damage caused by chemicals and other destructive elements. In addition to sealing out moisture and reducing ultraviolet oxidation, the coating seals in the asphalt binder which keeps the pavement flexible. PermaSeal is odorless and contains no skin irritants. Seal coating gives pavement a uniform appearance while filling minor pores and voids in the surface. Seal coating also gives sharp contrast to pavement markings, as shown above. To reduce long term maintenance expenses, it is recommended that pavement be seal coated every 3 to 5 years, depending on traffic and overall condition of the asphalt.
PermaSeal is specifically designed with the professional contractor in mind. This product is used to seal pavements such as parking lots, driveways, playgrounds, drive-in commercial establishments and any other non-highway asphalt surface.
Thin lift overlays are applied to existing pavements to preserve the pavement, retard the rate of future deterioration and improve the functional condition of the pavement without increasing structural capacity. These thin surface treatments also reduce the need for routine maintenance and can significantly extend the life of pavements. However, as they only preserve, not improve the structural capacity, they have to be applied while the pavements are still in good structural condition. In fact, the better the pavement condition when thin overlays are applied, the longer the treatments will last and the more cost effective it is. When applied properly, thin lift overlays can correct some surface irregularities, including rutting, and significantly improve frictional characteristics of pavement surface and thus improve road safety.
Once a surface has deteriorated to the point that it cannot be addressed by crack sealing, fog sealing or sealcoating, thin lift overlays remain an option rather than complete removal or replacement. Pavement interlayer fabrics interlock with the asphalt overlay providing structural reinforcement to resist cracking in the overlay. By using different types of synthetic products, roadways can be returned to their original condition with minimal asphalt replacement or overlay.
